Undertakers are also referred to as funeral directors and after the family of the dead and the clergy, they are the most important persons in charge of the funeral service. These are professionals who aid you in conducting the funeral, right from the beginning to the end. Most undertakers consider their tasks as an emergency service, where they have to be available twenty four hours a day and all days of a year.

In the face of such a huge loss, the mourning family may not be able to take quick decisions regarding the service and ultimate disposition of the body. This is where the undertaker enters the scene and takes over. He helps you decide the time, place and manner of the funeral rites and services for the deceased. In addition to that, the undertaker in fact helps you to be able to bear your loss, by merely being there at your service and acting as an organiser of the funeral services, which depict the love and respect you hold for the deceased.

A funeral service has to be organized taking into account the schedule and venue, and these need to be decided first and then communicated to friends and family of the deceased. Once this is finalised, the undertaker assists you in getting the deceased to the funeral site or to the venue where he or she is to be finally rested. If a burial service needs to be carried out, then the undertaker also helps in choosing a suitable coffin for the dead.

In Addition to this, the undertaker also helps in organising the funeral service, including choosing florists, flowers, church, making arrangements for for transport, food, clergy, music, copies of script of hymns, headstone and ashes. All plans are made by the undertaker keeping in mind the wishes of the relatives so that the deceased gets due respect in the funeral service.

Finally, some undertakers even help you in getting the dead from other countries, embalming the body and can also help in conducting the funeral service in another country, depending on your need.
